Is wireless broadband as reliable as fibre?
Yes. Our fixed wireless network uses point-to-point radio links mounted on buildings and towers, not mobile signals. Unlike ADSL or mobile broadband, the speed you are quoted is the speed we deliver. Because you are not sharing a telephone cable with your neighbours, performance remains consistent at all times of day.
What equipment will be installed at my property?
We fit a small antenna on your roof or an exterior wall, connected by a weatherproof cable to a compact router inside your home. The antenna is roughly the size of a hardback book and is finished in white. All equipment is provided and owned by W3Z, and we handle all maintenance. You simply plug your devices into the router via Wi-Fi or ethernet.
Can I keep my existing email address?
If your existing email address is through a provider such as Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo then it is completely portable and will continue to work as normal on any internet connection. If you have an address tied to your current ISP (such as a BT or Sky address), we can set you up with a W3Z webmail account, or we recommend migrating to a free provider like Gmail before you switch. We also offer webmail access at webmail.w3z.co.uk.
Are there any contracts or tie-ins?
Our standard home broadband packages are available with no long-term contract tie-in. You simply pay monthly. If you ever need to leave, we ask for 30 days’ notice. We do offer discounted installation on longer-term agreements — ask our team for details when you sign up.
