As can be seen from the web site my client is one of the UK's leading independent distributors of two way radio communications equipment. As recently as 2005 they were the first ever UK company to win the prestigious European Distributor of the Year Award from the Kenwood Corporation. They are also active in IP Telephony and are a Wireless ISP, having recently developed their own successful W3Z Wireless Broadband network.
Very well established with a splendid reputation for customer satisfaction and support within these very competitive market sectors, my client now wishes to appoint a General Manager (Managing Director Designate) who will take full responsibility for all strategic and day to day activities affecting the P&L of the company.
Working initially, where necessary, with the current founder MD you will quickly be reporting directly to the Board. You will have full responsibility for UK sales operations including pricing and distribution policy. Your prime objective will be responsibility for a successful team and to improve them by exploiting untapped markets, and by placing particular emphasis on developing profitable business through a large network of dealers and major end-users ranging from local government, utilities and independent industrial users. Providing a team of sales, marketing and administrative personnel with inspirational leadership, you will build long-term customer relationships and identify new business opportunities to exceed sales and profit targets. You will also act as the commercial interface with R&D to evaluate and develop new products and applications.
Of graduate calibre and an accomplished communicator and high achiever, you will have a background in a related industry with General Management skills including Sales & Marketing, be customer focused and results driven. Experience of managing a national sales force will be paramount with evidence of your ability to sell to end users in a highly competitive market place.
